Retro-Commissioning (RCx) improves how building equipment and subsystems function together by identifying, implementing, and verifying low- or no- cost energy efficiency initiatives.
RCx improves a building’s operations and maintenance (O&M) activities and enhances overall building performance. For older buildings, RCx can resolve design or construction issues, or address problems that have developed throughout the building’s life.
RCx initiatives reduce energy expenses for many years and often have a payback of less than one year.
Candidates for RCx include buildings with:
- High energy consumption
- High maintenance expenses
- Tenant comfort issues
- Older age or recent renovations
The industry-standard ENERGY STAR program recommends buildings undergo RCx every 3 to 5 years, regardless of age. To discuss whether RCx is right for your building, please contact us.
